The president of the Philippines, who earlier this month admitted to personally shooting and killing three men and using a powerful painkiller in excess of a doctor’s order, said Tuesday he also had dropped a kidnapping suspect from a helicopter – and he would do it again.

Speaking at the Camarines Sur provincial capitol, Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte told the story of his vigilante justice in an effort to show he was serious about anti-corruption measures, The Philippine Star reported.

“If you are corrupt I will fetch you with a helicopter and I will throw you out on the way to Manila,” Duterte said. “I have done that before, why should I not do it again?”

Duterte bolstered the outrageous claim with explicit details.
He said he went after a group of kidnapping suspects who allegedly abused a victim even after receiving their requested ransom. He also recalled telling the helicopter pilot to fly at a specific altitude – so the splatter of the body wouldn’t cause a ruckus on the ground.

An unspecified report had previously alleged Duterte, as Davao mayor, killed a drug dealer by dropping him from a helicopter, The Philippine Star reported.
Duterte said earlier this month that he personally killed three men “to show to the [police] that if I can do it, why can’t you?”

“And I’d go around in Davao with a motorcycle, with a big bike around, and I would just patrol the streets, looking for trouble,” Duterte told the BBC on Dec. 16. “I was really looking for a confrontation so I could kill.”

The admission came just hours after a spokesman denied Duterte had killed anyone.

KATHMANDU, Nepa – A herd of elephants has attacked a village in southwest Nepal, killing one person and wounding two others.

Government official Dilli Ram Acharya says the elephants attacked Praseni village at dawn Wednesday when there was not much light and poor visibility due to winter fog.

Security forces were sent to the area to chase the elephants back to the forest. The injured people have been taken to a nearby town for treatment.

Acharya says the village is close to Bardia National Park, home to many elephants, but it was rare for people to be killed by the animals.

The Bangladeshi government has revealed its plans to expose people who are viewing porn websites.

The State minister for Posts and Telecommunication Tarana Halim said the government is planning to develop a mechanism to reveal the internet pornographic consumers in Bangladesh.

Halim says this will deter people from viewing porn.

The minister made the statement while inaugurating the e-file tracking system on Monday that aims to ensure accountability, transparency, honesty.
“We couldn’t block 100% of the porn sites, but if we could block 80%, it would be huge accomplishment for us,” said Halim.

She reiterated the government’s stance on pornography which she alleges is contrary to the country’s social norms and values.
Earlier on November 28, the government formed a committee to restrict access to pornography and objectionable content on the web from Bangladesh.
Access to such websites will be blocked after the committee submits its report to the telecom division within seven working days.

Email At least four people were killed and dozens of others were injured Wednesday when a minivan ploughed into a farmer’s market in Beijing, The Sun reported. Authorities had detained the van’s driver, the Beijing Municipal Public Security Bureau said, though it was not immediately clear whether the episode was intentional or accidental. The incident comes just two days after a terror attack in Berlin in which a suspected jihadi killed 12 people when he drove a truck into the crowd at a Christmas market.
