SHEEPSHEAD BAY, Brooklyn (WPIX) — More than 250 pounds, $2 million worth, of magic mushrooms were seized from a grow house in Brooklyn Friday. Investigators and NYPD officers executed two search warrants at grow houses in Sheepshead Bay Thursday. Detectives found more than 200 pounds of psychedelic mushrooms, $30,000 worth of cash, 300 gift cards, one ounce of marijuana and bank records at the first private house on E. 13th Street. More than 50 pounds of psychedelic mushrooms, $400 worth of cash and a 2007 Lexus 350 SUV were seized from the second location on E. 11th Street. Three men — Vitali Yaromin, 50; Nikita Medvedev, 26; and Maksym Lyushnenko, 47 — were arrested. They were charged with criminal possession of controlled substance and criminally using drug paraphernalia. The three men face up to 10 years in prison if convicted.
