Clamp down on illegal initiation surgeons

The Nelson Mandela Bay Initiation Forum has vowed to lodge a criminal case against an unregistered traditional surgeons operating in the Motherwell initiation school. This after two initiates developed complications despite the area having one of the best success rates in the practice. Forum Spokesperson, Mongezi Hoyi says the victims of the botched initiation are recovering after surgeons were roped in to help. On Monday, police in the Western Cape confirmed the death of a 19-year-old man who succumbed to his injuries after a botched initiation. In a separate incident, a 21-year-old initiate from Nyanga also died earlier in November.
